A change is coming: the old SuperMemo apps will be discontinued. Switch to their newer versions and continue learning without interruptions! [UPDATE]

If you’re still using an older version of the SuperMemo app for Android, Windows, or app.supermemo.com, important changes are on the way. As of September 1 (update: September 15), 2025, these versions will no longer be available. But no worries – you can already switch to the newer versions, which offer modern solutions, more features, and even better support for language learning. In this post, we explain what to do to keep all your progress and data safe.

UPDATE: We have noticed a significant number of active users who have not yet switched to the newer versions of the app. Therefore, we have extended the shutdown date of the old versions to September 15, 2025. This is the last chance to synchronize your progress between the older and newer versions of the app.

Which apps are up to date?

Below you’ll find the most up-to-date versions of the apps, ensuring convenient learning with technical support:

• Web app: learn.supermemo.com
• Android app: Google Play
• iOS app: App Store

Which apps are affected by the change?

• Old version of the Android app, e.g. if you are using version 1.6.363.2.11.92 (interface 2.11.90), you need to switch to the new app to continue learning
• App.supermemo.com
• Windows app

For the old Android app, the newer equivalent is this app – version 1.0.9-android or higher. If you already have version >1.0.9, no further action is required. You can check the SuperMemo app version in the Google Play Store under About this app – Version.

The shutdown also applies to the Windows app and the browser version – app.supermemo.com, whose newer equivalent is learn.supermemo.com, which is constantly improved and updated. If you are already using learn.supermemo.com, you don’t need to take any action.

What do you need to do?

To continue your learning smoothly:

1. Enable automatic synchronization in the old version of the Android or Windows app – open the menu in the top right corner of the screen and click “Auto-sync”. Synchronization is enabled if a green dot is visible.
2. Download the newer SuperMemo app for Android from the Google Play Store or go to learn.supermemo.com.
3. Log in with the same account you’ve been using in the old version.
4. Your data, courses, and statistics will be preserved.
5. That’s it! You can now enjoy learning in a new, more convenient environment.

If you only use app.supermemo.com, all you need to do is log in at learn.supermemo.com. Your progress will synchronize automatically.

Don’t wait until the last minute

Although the old app will be discontinued on September 1 (update: September 15), it’s best to switch now. This way, you’ll have time to get used to the new interface, try out the AI tools, and adjust the settings to your preferences. Most importantly – you won’t interrupt your learning for even a moment.
