What makes LBF 2017 worth remembering

Very early this year, the London Book Fair took the Olympia exhibition centre by storm on March 14-16. Poland was the Market Focus Country in 2017, which allowed Polish publishers, including SuperMemo, to be part of an unprecedentedly large Polish national stand that welcomed visitors in quest of not only traditional paper publications, but also digital content.

Digital solutions providers from Poland gathered around the PubTechPoland initiative at the PubTechCorner within the Polish National Stand. On the second day of the fair, seven companies from Poland had their open presentations for everyone interested in a combination of good content and latest technological solutions and approaches to learning, reading and teaching. As part of the PubTechPoland project, SuperMemo offered a presentation about Olive Green and how it opens a new chapter in edutainment and ELT.

Later that day we also had the honour to present our SuperMemo.com learning ecosystem at a conference organized by Polska Izba Książki. Following Maria Deskur’s analysis of the Polish children’s publications market, Krzysztof Biedalak, CEO, introduced the audience to the educational learning resources and spaced repetition by SuperMemo.

Finally, SuperMemo was also part of the What Works? educational conference where Alicja Jankowiak, Editor-in-Chief joined a panel discussion on how publishers embrace technology to ensure survival. The debate, held together with publishers from Latvia, Finland and China, moderated by Carl Robinson from Ixxus, gathered an audience of over 200 and was received with much interest and heated Q&A towards the end of the session.

In between the presentations, we squeezed meetings with our current and potential future partners from countries such as France, Italy, Republic of South Africa, South Korea, to name just a few. We are looking forward to seeing these chats develop into a long-standing cooperation very soon.

See you all in London next year!
