How to create your own courses?

Creating your own course in SuperMemo is a simple way to learn exactly what you need. The course editor allows you to build sets of cards (MemoCards), add chapters, reorder cards, and manage the course content. Here's how to get started:

Adding media files to cards:
Click the card you want to add media to (e.g. an image, illustration, or audio recording), then select the add media file icon. The maximum file size is 2 MB. Your changes will be saved automatically.

Adding speech settings to a course:
What should you do if you want the questions and answers in your course to be read aloud automatically using TTS (text-to-speech) and/or allow spoken answers using a microphone? Open the course menu (the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen) and select “Course settings”. Then go to “Speech settings” and use the toggles to enable the options you want to use in the course. Remember to select the appropriate languages for the question and answer audio. Finally, confirm your changes by clicking “Save”.

The course editor gives you full control over your content structure:

• Editing course settings – you can change the course title, author, cover image, speech settings, or even publish the course so it's available to other SuperMemo users.
• Enter the Course Editor and click “+” to create a new private course.
• Adding chapters and sections – organize cards by topic, e.g., “Lesson 1 – Basics” or “Past Tense.” Open the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and select “Edit table of contents” to manage your course structure.
• Reordering cards – in the three-dot menu, select “Change the order”, then drag and drop the cards into your preferred order.
• Moving cards between courses – select specific or all cards to move them to another course, chapter, or section.
